Virginia Rowthorn, AVP for Global Engagement will serve as primary voting member, and Amy Ramirez, Executive Director of Global Learning and International Services will be UMB’s alternate voting member.
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEES REDUCED!
We are pleased to share that the board has approved the reduction of our annual membership dues for the next year to $1,000 per institution. We know that many college and universities are facing tight budgets for the next academic year, and we want to be responsive to that reality and ensure that Maryland higher education institutions can find a home with MIEC to collaborate and advance internationalization efforts! Contact info@studymaryland.org if you are interested in joining for the September 2025-August 2026 fiscal year!
SEPTEMBER INTERNATIONAL STUDENT FAIRS
Our Study Maryland Recruitment Committee is already thinking about the Fall 2025 term and planning for two in-person colleges fairs for international students already here in Maryland, and for a virtual fair to reach students abroad. We anticipate these events will take place in mid-September, and confirmed dates will be announced as plans develop.
NAFSA ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2026, ORLANDO
MIEC will once again have a presence in the NAFSA Annual Conference Expo Hall! The 2026 conference will be held in Orlando, and we have collaborated with other Study State Consortia to have a central Study State location to increase visibility. We will be joined by Study California, Study Alabama, Study Florida, Study Delaware, Study Hawaii, and Study New York!
